- Polybutenes are clear, water white, aliphatic polymer characterized by viscosity and molecular weight. Among the polymer’s unique properties, it is organic-soluble, hydrophobic, and non-corrosive and displays excellent oxidative stability.
- Polybutenes can be used as an intermediate in a wide range of applications including lubricants, gear oils, polymer modification, two-stroke engine oils, greases, tackifiers, sealants, adhesives, coatings, stretch film, adhesives, agrichemicals and personal care.
- Tackifier is a viscosity index (V.I.) improver polymer in concentrated, pellet or rod form. It is dissolved in oil to prepare an economical additive for multi-grade engine oils or an aftermarket “oil treatment” additive. It may also be used as an inexpensive thickener for oil, to avoid blending with expensive oils like bright stocks.
- Tackifier is an olefin copolymer, derived from ethylene and propylene.
